Jim Thome, the veteran player with most career home runs in the interleague play, will not be competing in the weekend’s three games against San Francisco as he has been removed from the order owing to his last year’s performance and age. The White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said that he had discussed about the situation to the veteran and said that he might make some select pinch hit appearances if required. Thome’s fans who had purchased tickets to watch him perform at Anaheim are sure a dejected lot. Guillen said that he might change his mind if things do not go according to plan and wants this veteran hitter to take some valuable time off in order to be ready for the hectic American League and National League games that follows shortly.
